Thank you, Rick and Bonnie—and all the others who are volunteering their efforts—for all the work you’ve put into bringing about this 50th reunion.  It is a pleasure to read the short bios that many have posted.  I’m feeling as excited and anxious as a teenager anticipating a high school dance.   My wife of 15 years is Dr. Cindy Bollman, a psychologist in private practice in northern Virginia where we live.  By a previous marriage I have two children.  My daughter, Amanda is 27 and works for Trader Joe’s.   I have two grandsons born to my son Ben who is 31 and his wife Amy, both engineers employed in northern Virginia.  Huxley is 2 and Archer is 6 months old.  I retired from the Army having served 34 years active duty and 10 years in the reserves.   I began my career as a paratrooper, a combat medic in Viet Nam, where I was twice decorated.  I retired as a physician and colonel with tours in Korea, Kuwait, Honduras, Iraq and Afghanistan.   When I was 60, I completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at GW, in D.C. and now I’m a geriatrician practicing with Inova Health Systems, in Fairfax county, VA.  Last week Cindy and I hosted Ben and Amanda’s mother and her husband for a 4th of July cook-out.  We are friends who have shared a great deal.  Such events as a BBQ among adults who have co-parented successfully and among classmates attending their 50th high school reunion, are wonderful gifts to have lived to experience.   I was saddened to read the list of those who had passed.  Send Richard a MessageSend Richard a Message

April 02, 1950 RN Married 1
Better late than never, tried to place entry before --but it went into cyberspace. And this is difficult to write about because my dear husband of 32 years has been getting chemotherapy (every 3 weeks) for recent diagnosis of metastatic lung cancer--so we have been living with a strange cloud hanging over head--but with a lot to be grateful for too.

I am back at work as an RN at Emory Crawford Long--downtown Atl--after a long stent as a stay at home "PTA" mom. My husband, Mike, (met in college)--has been working as a project manager for a remodeling company owned by one of our best friends--he had been staying quite busy (until recently) remodeling some of the fine intown Atlanta homes.

Our son is at a small school in North Carolina of his choosing planning to be a college professor some day--we are very proud of him--as he earned 75% scholarship there.
My family-- brother, sister and 87 year old Mother are all still here in the Atlanta area --so I see them all very often.
Looking forward to seeing each of you.

August 31, 1950 Married 2
With only one week left until the Reunion I guess it's time to get up my nerve and say Hi! I have been married for 37 years to Dave, who I met my first month at college. We have a son and daughter who are both married and have provided us with a wonderful son and daughter-in-law. We spent 18 years in New Jersey and loved it but are very glad to be back in Atlanta now reconnecting with old friends. I have enjoyed all the postings and can't wait to see everyone next weekend! The Reunion Committee has done an awesome job of putting this together - and the website is the Best! Send Becky a MessageSend Becky a Message

January 20, 1951 Retired Married 2
Dennis and I are happily retired, living in Charlotte, NC.  My daughters are both married and each has a baby boy. I stay busy with tennis, choir, hand bells, & church work.  Two years ago, my parents sold the house they built in 1961 & moved to Clarkesville, GA where 2 of my sisters live. It feels very strange to no longer have relatives in Atlanta! I look forward to seeing all of you.  The tour of BHS should bring back a host of memories. Send Susan a MessageSend Susan a Message

I retired about 18 months ago, but after  7 months my wife decided we were getting to know one another too well.  So I work a few days a week and play golf the others.  I can't wait to see everyone, and I often reflect on how lucky we all are to have grown up when and where we did.  What a great group of people!  Thanks SO much to the committee for putting this together.  Let me know if I can help. Cathy and I have both been retired from the Federal Government about two years and married 28 years.  We love our retired life and stay busy with various volunteer activities, running, hiking, biking, and travel.  We live near Lakeside HS where both of our boys graduated.  I’m sorry that we will be out of town the week of the reunion.

Hi there,
Most of you will remember that I was not at school a whole lot, but I did have a good time. After the army I settled down and finished college and law school. I had a great career in banking and was fortunate enough to retire at 50 years old. We love to travel and we spend alot of time at our second home on the beach in Panama City.

I'm sorry I will not be able to attend the reunion. I will be out of town, or you could say I'm still skipping school at age 58.

Have a good time everyone!

Mike

November 16, 1950 Executive Assistant Single Again 2

After graduation I went to The Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD) but eloped and moved to Toronto my first year.  I worked as a fashion model (photography & commercials) for 10 years, had two beautiful children, and eventually (1994) moved back to Atlanta. Marriage ended but kids stayed. LOL.  My daugher is at Kennesaw and wants to work with animals but not necessarily become a veterinarian. My son is currently at SCAD, so we've come full circle.  Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
